Annual Fundraising Events

The Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center hosts many events throughout the year to raise awareness about domestic violence, reach survivors who may need support, and raise funds. We strive to create opportunities to bring survivors and supporters together through a combination of small, informal information sessions and large, well-organized fundraisers. Check back to this page to see what’s coming up across the organization.

Here are the annual fundraising events you can expect each year:

Walk against domestic violence

Every year on the first Sunday in October, we gather at Newburyport’s Waterfront Park to walk a scenic 3-mile route in honor of victims and survivors of domestic violence, and to raise needed funds for our programs. We are proud to say that we have now hosted this community event for over 30 years!

Our annual White Ribbon event happens each March and raises funds to support our Youth Empowerment Services – Girls Inc. of the Seacoast Area, Healthy Relationships and Bystander Education programming in area schools.

During the pandemic, this event was virtual – you can watch videos on our YouTube channel to hear from students, board members, donors and more. Click here to learn about our 2024 event experience.

Third-party events

We are fortunate to have dedicated and generous community members who will host fundraising events on our behalf. Check back on this page throughout the year to see when these are coming up – here are a few that have become annual events:

  • American Legion Charity Ride – The 4th Annual Charity Ride will kick off from Post 273 in Burlington, MA on 9/21
