Matching gifts are an easy way to increase your impact to Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center. Companies will often financially match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations, which can double your contribution.
How they work: When you donate, you request a matching gift from your employer, which then makes its own donation. Companies usually match donations at a 1:1 ratio, but some will match at a 2:1, 3:1, or even a 4:1 ratio.
About $3 billion in matching funds is donated annually. Perhaps even more significantly, it is estimated that nonprofits miss out on another $4-7 billion annually because donors don’t request matching funds.
